Election Alert!

Advance Polls

With 16 days until polling day, Ontario is at the mid-point in the provincial election campaign. Ontario voters have a number of opportunities to vote before the June 7 election day.  Advance polls will be open May 26 - May 30, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

To identify the advance polling locations close to where you live, check this Elections Ontario voter information. Voting in the advance poll is particularly important for those individuals who are planning to help pull the vote on election day or who may have personal commitments that might make it difficult to get to the polls that day.

Pledge to Vote
Join ETFO's election activities by taking the pledge to vote for Building Better Schools, ETFO's agenda for public education. Taking the pledge will make sure you are kept up to date with important election information.

Rally to Build Better Schools

On May 9, 2018 - the first day of the provincial election campaign - ETFO members, local leaders and provincial leaders rallied at the Ministry of Education Mowat Block in Toronto to send a message that change is needed on June 7th to Build Better Schools in this province.

In a rousing speech, ETFO President Sam Hammond declared that "It's Time!" Time to fix the province's broken education Funding Formula. Time to cap class sizes in grades 4 to 8 and in Kindergarten. Time to deal with the increasing incidents of classroom violence that are making students' classrooms and teachers' workplaces unsafe. Time to deal with the backlog of repair and infrastructure issues in Ontario's schools.  And finally, time to eliminate EQAO testing and direct those funds to the classroom.
